Who is Taylor White?

Taylor joined MFA as a staff geologist with a strong academic background in geology and geographic information systems. She was born and raised in Spokane, Washington, and her admiration for the Pacific Northwest runs deep. Throughout her academic career, Taylor was fortunate to have the opportunity to study in the Channeled Scablands of Eastern Washington and the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and southwestern Montana. Her experience includes geologic field mapping and analysis, spatial modeling, technical writing, environmental sampling, lab analysis, and data quality assurance.

While completing her bachelor’s degree at Eastern Washington University, Taylor collaborated with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to investigate and map the distribution of chronic zinc toxicity in surface waters statewide, including those impacted by historical mining and milling practices in the Silver Valley. Taylor currently lives in northern Idaho and enjoys pursing her interests in kayaking, snowshoeing, occasional spelunking, and exploring all that the region has to offer.
