Who is Sarah Sieloff?

Sarah joined MFA in 2021 with over 15 years’ experience in economic and community development and planning, both internationally and across the United States. She is a member of MFA’s Planning Team, and her core strengths include public policy research and analysis, community and economic development, intergovernmental relations, and program management. Sarah is experienced in many aspects of the brownfield redevelopment process, including funding and grants.

Before joining MFA, Sarah spent 2020 as a Council on Foreign Relations-Hitachi Fellow in Japan, where she researched municipal responses to demographic transition. From 2015 to 2020, she served as the executive director of the nonprofit Center for Creative Land Recycling, the U.S.’s premier land reuse nonprofit. Sarah’s experience also includes nearly four years in federal service, two of which she spent as the Memphis team lead for the White House Council on Strong Cities, Strong Communities. Born and raised in the Puget Sound region, Sarah speaks fluent Spanish and has a passion for helping Pacific Northwest communities build more sustainable, livable futures.
