Who is Roxanne Degens?

Ms. Degens is an environmental scientist with over two years of experience working with state, federal, and industrial clients. Her work has focused on allocation support for clients in Oregon and Washington, stormwater permit compliance, multimedia sampling supporting remedial actions, and spatial analysis and figure creation using Geographic Information Systems.

Her professional strength lies in her interdisciplinary approach to problem solving; Ms. Degens integrated environmental chemistry, geology, and environmental policy economics into her undergraduate studies and has examined the many interfaces of these areas through multiple research and work projects. For example, she received a grant through the Mellon Foundation to conduct a GIS-based field investigation regarding equity in the provision of water services in Oaxaca City, Mexico. Ms. Degens’s interdisciplinary background is invaluable in the development of creative and detailed work products that ensure regulatory compliance for clients.

Ms. Degens is skilled in using GIS to analyze and present complex environmental data in an approachable, visual manner. She is knowledgeable concerning Washington State and federal environmental regulations.
