Who is Pam Grater?

Pam comes to MFA with experience across a variety of industries where she has focused her career on nurturing inclusive cultures where people can thrive. She gets excited about opportunities to solve complex challenges and support leaders so they can excel.

Pam’s start in human resources was as a traveling corporate trainer, which piqued her interest in organizational structure and communication. She worked as a recruiter before returning to training and development for several years. After relocating to Portland, she became an HR generalist and later Director of Human Resources in a firm with a culture that celebrated people and excellence in the work they did. Pam’s key areas of interest include leadership development; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and recruiting and retention.

As a lifelong learner, Pam seeks opportunities for professional development through authors and speakers whose life experiences differ from her own.

Outside of work Pam enjoys hiking with her dog, spending time with friends and family, traveling, and trying new coffee shops in search of the perfect cup, ideally enjoyed with others. She is inordinately proud of her children, but has more pictures on her phone of her dog than of her kids.
