I decided to major in geography because I have always loved maps, so the chance to create them was intriguing. After getting to college and working more with spatial analysis, I became interested in helping others understand spatial patterns and phenomena. Since starting with MFA, I have learned more ways to use these skills to help people make decisions and portray information effectively.

Who is Jenna Putnam?
Jenna joined MFA in 2019 with a background in geography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). She has worked in the public, nonprofit, and private sectors for seven years. In previous positions, she focused on spatial analysis as applied to business decision-making. Her GIS capabilities include data management and analysis, spatial analysis, data conversion and editing, and map production. Jenna also has experience working with Alteryx, including creating workflows. When not at work, Jenna enjoys hiking, walking around Portland, cooking, and trying out new coffee shops.
