Who is Erik Strandhagen?

Mr. Strandhagen has over 14 years of professional experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and environmental data management. He holds a master of science degree in geography with an emphasis in hydrology, geomorphology, and advanced spatial-temporal analysis. Mr. Strandhagen has extensive project-management experience that includes budgeting; cost tracking; scheduling; and coordination with regulators, subcontractors, and other consultants. He is experienced in managing numerous GIS tasks to support engineering evaluation and cost analysis (EE/CA) studies; remedial investigation and feasibility studies (RI/FSs); and sampling and analysis plans. He is proficient with high-accuracy global positioning system (GPS) data collection, as well as pre- and post-data processing.

Mr. Strandhagen specializes in advanced geostatistical analysis and integrated calculations of chemical body mass and volume for geologic three-dimensional (3D) subsurface site models. His subsurface models have been peer-reviewed by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency consultants and vetted by other regulatory agencies. Mr. Strandhagen is skilled with GIS-based hydrologic analysis and with light-image detection and ranging (LiDAR) elevation data for advanced digital terrain and surface analysis. His skills also include cartographic design, computer programming, data management, data visualization, GIS design, remote sensing, and spatial-accuracy assessment. He is also experienced in print- and digital-cartographic atlas publications, including serving as an expert contributor to the Atlas of Yellowstone published in 2012.
