Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

We are actively working to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within our firm. Three core values guide DEI at MFA:

  1. Everyone deserves a safe, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
  2. Through increasing the diversity and cultural competence of our firm, we can better serve the communities where we work.
  3. We must work to resist and reverse systemic racism within our firm, and in the communities where we live, work, and serve.

 

MFA’s DEI Initiatives

MFA staff of all levels and disciplines are involved in our DEI initiatives. About 20 staff work on our DEI advisory committee, which develops and implements our DEI actions with collaboration and support from our board of directors and management team. We are currently working on DEI in four key areas:

Hiring

Increase the diversity of our applicant pool and ensure our hiring process fosters DEI.

Culture

Hire a consultant to ensure DEI is at the forefront of every aspect of our firm and develop additional practices to solicit input and feedback where unknown barriers exist.

Partnerships

Increase our partnerships with minority- and women-owned firms, develop partnerships with local business programs supporting diversity, and foster opportunities for staff learning.

Giving and Volunteering

Encourage staff to support organizations that promote DEI and invest in organizations that focus on communications, data, science, technology, and math education for marginalized students.
