Workplace Chemical Exposure Assessment

Location: Ridgefield, Washington

An employee of a confidential client was diagnosed with cancer and suggested that it may have been caused by his exposure to chemicals at work. To make matters even more complicated, the industrial process involved more than 70 chemicals of concern and it was scheduled to be shut down soon, making it necessary to design a very challenging assessment in a short time. MFA worked with the client to quickly develop and implement an exposure assessment plan, which provided data to show that chemical exposures at the facility were well-controlled. MFA’s close collaboration with facility employees throughout the assessment process made it easy to present the results and answer questions in a positive environment.

Working with MFA, the client:

  • Developed and implemented an effective exposure assessment plan
  • Answered sensitive employee questions in a positive, transparent atmosphere
  • Illustrated that chemical exposures at their facility were well-controlled
