Wetland Restoration

Client: Carty Lake, US Fish and Wildlife Refuge, Washington

This 1,800-foot-long failing bulkhead was transformed to provide wildlife habitat, prevent erosion, and restore culturally-significant plants to an area historically used by Native American tribes.  MFA’s careful design, extensive grading work and construction oversight provided permanent stabilization and restored the wetland surface to retain the nuanced topography and “pocket-habitats” of the site’s pre-construction conditions.
