Low Impact Development

Client: Green Gables Design and Restoration

Location: Portland, Oregon

When Green Gables Design and Restoration, the owner of a private office development in the northwest industrial district of Portland, Oregon needed assistance with stormwater design issues, they sought out support from MFA.

The site posed a number of challenges as it is irregularly shaped, site soils had minimal infiltration capacity, and is located adjacent to a railroad corridor meaning that existing utility infrastructure and easements occupied much of the site.

In spite of some challenging site features, MFA was able to incorporate low-impact development (LID) stormwater features at the site including pervious concrete pavers for vehicle access ways and parking areas, and partial infiltration planters to collect, treat, attenuate flow, and dispose of stormwater runoff from building roofs and walkways.
