Community Planning

Communities are facing rapidly changing demographic and economic conditions. By 2030 many communities across the Pacific Northwest may see population growth of 20% or more and the planet may have to accommodate an additional 49 million persons. And, by 2050 it is estimated that 70% of that population will likely live in urban areas.

MFA’s community planning efforts are designed to find solutions based on these demographic and economic realities, community aspirations, and environmental stewardship.

Whether master planning neighborhoods, developing comprehensive plans, or forecasting capital funding needs we seek to find common ground with communities, local governments and the private sector to develop workable approaches that are based in market and regulatory realities.

Our planners use facilitation, analysis and design in bringing sustainable solutions to complex challenges and opportunities.
