MFA is involved in large-scale urban waterfront cleanups such as this one on the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon, where existing industrial operations, cleanup, and future redevelopment are taken into consideration.
MFA's investigation of this site started when chlorinated volatile organic compounds (solvents) were found during an investigation of 1950s-era manufactured gas plant waste.
Since 1996, Maul Foster & Alongi, Inc. has assisted the Port with investigation of site soil and groundwater, which is contaminated with creosote, pentachlorophenol, copper, chromium, and arsenic.
MFA is leading the data collection, management, evaluation, and reporting functions for all site work. We are also coordinating multiple design efforts as well as assisting in long-term program planning.
